Weather: Overcast and scattered showers. Temperature was in the 40 degrees F; this was a day of cold riding.

There was a stretch of mud/gravel road about 15 miles in length just south of Teslin. I had to make a few fast maneuvers in the mud to avoid a hazardous situation where a road grader was rapidly approaching and apparently did not see me - he was certainly not slowing down! After this stretch, the road quality improved to excellent again.

I had a late lunch in Whitehorse (largest city, population 22,000). I found the population to be a very diverse mix of cultures.

The terrain began to flatten out considerably and reminded me of places in the western U.S.
