This Day's Route: Departed Wonowon, BC [1]; Alaska Highway N through
Fort Nelson and on to the Summit Pass Provincial Campground, BC [2] (Mile 393).
Weather: Sunny and warm. Temperature was in the 60's. Storm clouds formed in the late afternoon and there were occasional sprinkles in the evening.
The terrain changed from deep rolling hills to mountains. This day's ride was very beautiful.
The Alaska Highway was excellent below Fort Nelson; north of there it was not bad, although much narrower and with some potholes and bumps. One two mile stretch of gravel was encountered.
I stopped about 3 PM to set up camp and go hiking.
Mountains appeared in the distance as the journey continued northward.
