The tubing is 3/4 inch black pipe that was cleaned and then stripped using a wire brush wheel mounted in a bench grinder. Angle iron is used at the firewall. 18 gauge steel brackets were fabricated for use at the fender aprons with matching pieces underneath the aprons.
Both hood brackets were temporarily installed to ensure the tubes would not interfere.
The brace can be removed by unbolting it.
