The upper control arm
supports were tack welded into place and the steering rack was bolted on. A 5.0
liter engine block core and AOD transmission core were used as props to fit the
engine mounts to the crossmember.
Proper alignment is essential to prevent driveshaft vibration. The transmission tailshaft must be parallel to the rear axle pinion shaft. The pinion angle alignment requirements are described further here and here and here and here and numerous other places. A dual-sump oil pan must be used with this front end kit. The exact motor mount locations need to be carefully selected to provide adequate clearance between the oil pan and the crossmember/steering rack. ![]() Next |
