The inside of the quarter panel was painted with an epoxy primer and fitted to the car again, this time with the door from the donor parts car. A door hinge bushing kit was also installed at this time. After literally hours of adjustment and alignment the quarter panel was finally welded into place.

Here is another view showing how well the lines match. The door opens and closes easily and fits perfectly.

Here it is from another angle.

The welds have been ground down along the joint. This will only require a very light skim of body filler prior to painting.

The deck lid also fits well with a nearly perfect gap.

The quarter panel and door replacement task has been a lot of hard work, with still more minor body work yet to be done. Within the next day or so the quarter panel exterior will be painted with primer to prevent rust from forming prior to final painting while other tasks are being done.

The next major task to be tackled is installation of the Mustang II IFS suspension.
