Griffin model 1-26222-T universal aluminum
crossflow radiator was fitted behind the air conditioning condensor.![]() An interference problem was discovered between the radiator lower hose outlet and the air conditioning compressor pulley. ![]() Also note that the hose outlet is pointed at an angle of about 30 degrees from perpendicular to the radiator tank. I contacted Griffin Radiator and they agreed to relocate the lower hose outlet for a fee. This was good news because the radiator quality is very high and I really wanted to use it on this project. Here is the radiator after being modified. The lower hose outlet was moved 1-1/2 inches lower and is now fairly close to being perpendicular to the tank. ![]() It is almost impossible to tell by looking that the radiator has been modified. I actually reached inside the outlet and felt where the modification was welded to verify the tank had not been replaced! This side view illustrates there is now plenty of clearance between the lower hose outlet and the air conditioning compressor pulley. ![]() Home |
