As the photos show, a good time was had by all.
Other highlights included the various day rides and meals shared together. In particular, Saturday evening's feast was especially memorable. Thank you, Holly!
Most folks left the rally on Sunday. A storm front moved through that day so they had a very wet ride home. A few of us were in no particular hurry to leave so we stayed an extra day to let the storms subside.
Jerry and I decided to pound the slab on the way home and try to make it in one day. Jerry's son had come for a visit and I had a project bike to work on at home. We departed Monday morning just prior to 6 AM.
We took it easy as it was still dark outside. Within the first mile or so a small herd of deer crossed the road in front of us. We had to stop to let them cross.
The weather was perfect and the temperatures were pleasant until southern Virginia. Then it was hot. Jerry and I split up at Charlotte, NC. He arrived home around 5 PM, and I arrived home at 8 PM. The day's ride was about 800 miles for me, and the trip total was just under 2400 miles.
