This Day's Route: North to the end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, north
on Skyline Drive to the Loft Mountain campground.
The journey resumed on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Today's weather was perfect
in all regards - skies were mostly fair and the temperature was very
comfortable, even in my riding suit.
I usually stop at the County Sales
record store in Floyd, VA to browse their collection of bluegrass and old
time music whenever I pass through the area on the Parkway. This trip was no
exception and I arranged to have a care package mailed to myself.
Later on I enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the historic Brugh_Tavern at Mile 115.
I stopped for the evening and camped at the
Loft Mountain
campground. This evening's meal was chili and a couple of granola bars.
